A cosmetic doctor's eligibility relies on his or her qualifications: a medical degree, board certification from a medical board of plastic surgery, fellowship in cosmetic surgery societies, surgical history and success rate. Popular surgeons may not always be the best choice. It would be best to consult your general practitioner first if he or she could recommend a highly qualified and eligible cosmetic surgeon for you. If not, ask friends or families who have had cosmetic procedures done in the past and whether their doctors seem fitting.

The neck liposuction procedure may last between 45 minutes to a couple of hours. Patients need not check in to the hospital after that; however it is recommended that someone responsible accompanies the patient home since sedation is administered.
